Kensington campus

UNSW Teaching session 2

The week of the conference is the first week of teaching session two at UNSW. You will see lots of students on campus.

Conference venues

Due to the teaching session the venues of the conference are scattered across the campus. Please make sure you know in advance the room in which your session or your talk is scheduled.

The conference will use the following venues (see the diagram below for the location of each of them; see the timetable for the session-room correspondence)

  • The Roundhouse --- the plenary lectures will be held on level one in Wurth/Drawing room.
  • Special session rooms:
    • Quadrangle Building --- Rooms G027, G034, G035, G047, G053, 1001;
    • Newton Building --- Rooms Newt-306, Newt-307;
    • Old Main Building (OMB) --- Rooms G31, G32, 145A, 230.

Please note that a walk from The Roundhouse to the OMB (the longest walk in the venues topology) will be 5--10 minutes.

Equipment in Venues

Every room is equipped with

  • Digital Projector with a PC/Laptop;
  • Projector Screen;
  • Overhead Projector;
  • Black or White board.

Internet access

If you registered before July 9th, there will be university wireless access information (account name and password) in your welcome pack. There will also be instructions explaining how to use the university wireless network.

Otherwise, you may request a guest account to one of our lab computers. The computer laboratory is located in the Red Centre, East Wing. The laboratory is open 9am--5pm on weekdays.

Registration

Registration of participants starts at 9am on Monday July 16-th in the Roundhouse.

Coffee breaks

Coffee breaks will be served in the Roundhouse.

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will take place in the Randwick Labor Club on Thursday night, Jul 19-th at 6-45pm. The club is at the walking distance from the Kensington Campus

For those who find it difficult, we assemble near the East Wing Entrance of the Red Centre (near a big fig tree) at 6-25pm sharp to walk together.

If your partner would like to join the dinner

If your partner would like to join us for the conference dinner, please let us know at the registration.

The cost of the conference dinner for partners is AU$45. This should be paid with a credit card at the Math & Stats School Office (see the diagram above).
